Basil, basil everywhere!
It's one of the easiest herbs
to grow. I have it planted in
my garden and a few pots on
the porch & the kitchen windowsill!
I trimmed some plants
the other day and made
some tasty basil butter.
Easy Basil Butter
1½ cups of lightly packed fresh basil
1 cup of salted butter
½ teaspoon of lemon juice
1 clove of garlic, minced (or less, to taste)
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper (optional)
In a food processor, chop basil.
Add remaining ingredients and
process until smooth.
Keep refrigerated.
Use as you would any flavored butter.
Delicious!
I slathered it on Italian bread & baked it
@375 for about 10 mins. Then sprinkled
it with grated Parmesan cheese.
then we used some on the steak & hot veggies too!
